“As someone who has been a teacher in both private and public schools (and has experienced the incredible challenges that teachers now face, far greater than two decades ago), as well as someone with decades of experience in other critical sectors including the environment, public health and transportation, I am asking for one of your two votes in the Democratic Primary Election this coming August.”

Vermont families are facing unsustainable property tax increases, driven in large part by rising education costs and a lack of long-term fiscal planning. I will work with state and local leaders to reform education funding, improve outcomes, and protect taxpayers from continued tax hikes.
Vermont’s schools need a renewed focus on academic fundamentals, giving teachers more time and authority to teach while reducing unnecessary complexity and administrative burdens. I will work to improve our slipping student outcomes by simplifying curriculum, strengthening core skills, and supporting educators in the classroom.
Vermont faces a critical shortage of affordable housing that is making it harder for young families and longtime residents to stay in the state. While preserving Vermont's natural beauty, we should encourage more housing—especially in our downtown and designated growth areas—through stronger incentives and targeted regulatory reform, funded by finding savings within the existing state budget rather than raising taxes.
Protect Vermont's natural beauty while supporting responsible economic growth. I'll bring decades of scientific, legal, and environmental experience to advance practical, evidence-based policies that protect our air, water, and land.
